Mini Haul and First Impressions

Yesterday I took a break from uni to do a little shopping!

Here are some new products that I purchased:

1. Moroccanoil Treatment
Anyone who has used this before knows how amazing and nourishing it is for your hair. I have actually used this product before, just not for a couple of years. I used it tonight and it is still the same amazing quality. You can’t fault this product.

2. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Palette
I have been eyeing off the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for months and was so desperate to try them! This palette comes with three different colours: Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light. I am absolutely in love with these powders and I have only used them once. My face had a luminous, radiant glow all day long! I am big on dewy skin, although I think there is a fine line between dewy and oily. I was surprised that I did not get oily at all with this product. So far I think it was money well spent, and I can’t wait to use it again.

3. Perricone MD Chloro Plasma Mask
So, a while back I read this really insightful book about skin by Dr Nicholas Perricone, and I was practically living by it. A few months later I noticed my Mum raving about these “Perricone” products that she was loving. It wasn’t until a while later that something finally clicked and I realised that the Perricone MD products were formulated by Dr Nicholas Perricone. Blonde moment. This mask is supposed to help with anti ageing, pores, congestion and several other skin issues. It goes on as a pale green colour, and as you massage it in you see tiny grains bursting with a dark green colour. It then turns into a clay mask. I used it this morning and oh my goodness, the difference in my face after one application is ridiculous. My skin looks incredibly clear and is so smooth. I am really impressed with how my skin looks, especially after only one application. It was well worth the price tag.

4. Stila Lip and Cheek Stain in Raspberry
I am extremely disappointed with this product. I love Stila and I own a lot of their products, so I am sad to have to write such a bad review about this stain. First off, the colour didn’t turn out like I had hoped. I expected a deep, raspberry colour stain but instead it was a bright hot pink fuchsia colour. The hot pink colour wouldn’t have been so bad if it wasn’t for the disgusting shimmer in the stain. The packaging does say, ‘lip and cheek stain with shimmer’, however the shimmer was intense. When I applied some of the stain to my hand in the shop and it seemed to be a pretty colour with minimal shimmer. The formula of this product was also really disappointing. Upon application it was thick and hard to blend. The colour would ‘stick’ on some places of my lips and not to others, so it came out really patchy. This product was a definite waste of money.
