Can you believe it’s October already!
Since the month of September has well and truly passed us, it’s time to do a post on some of my favourite products during that month. I’ll get right into it.
Make Up Favourites:
– Stila ‘In the Light’ Palette
I received this for Christmas last year, and I am even more in love with it than I was when I first received it! This palette has a great mix of shimmer and matte eyeshadows. The colours are great for everyday wear, however you can definitely create dramatic looks for a night out.
– Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Trio Palette
I only recently purchased this powder trio, however I am completely obsessed with it already. I have been wearing the powders daily and they create such a luminous, silky finish on the skin.
– Nars Creamy Concealer
This is my favourite concealer. It is great for highlighting the face and for covering dark circles. I also find it does the job of covering spots without ‘highlighting’ them and bringing attention to them.
– Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I purchased this when I was in Singapore early September and it has been my go-to foundation for the month. I like how it has almost full coverage and lasts for the day. The only downside to this product is that I find you have to work quickly before it turns a little powdery and begins to separate.
– Kora Organics by Miranda Kerr Energising Citrus Mist
I absolutely love the Kora Mists! I have used Miranda’s entire Kora Organics range and love each product to bits, however the mists are a stand out for me. They actually make a difference to the suppleness and appearance of the skin. I love using my mists to set my make up and refresh me throughout the day. The Citrus one in particular makes you feel awake and ‘energised’ as the name suggests. This product is a winner for me and I will continue to repurchase it especially as summer is approaching.
– Lush Popcorn Scrub
Here’s a piece of trivia, I used to work at Lush Cosmetics! While it was fun for a little while, I needed a more challenging job. Despite that, my time there was fun and I got to learn a lot about different products and ingredients. Anyway, I love the Lush lip scrubs and I normally use Mint Julips. This time around I felt like trying a different flavour. I feel in love with the Popcorn scrub because it is a unique mix of sweet and salty. I always use it before applying my lipsticks to create a smooth canvas and after I have taken my lipstick off to renew my lips.
– Go-To Very Useful Face Cream
The amazing Zoe Foster-Blake launched her own skincare line called Go-To back in April this year and I was extremely keen to try it out, although I only purchased the range a few weeks ago! I don’t know why I held off for so long. All of the products are natural, contain no parabens, silicones, or any other nasties and they are not tested on animals. Every product is amazing, however Very Useful Face Cream is the standout for me. Although it contains a lot of natural oils, it hasn’t broken me out or made my skin oily. In fact it has kept it clear! I have been using it morning and night and have really noticed a difference in the texture of my skin.
– L’occitane Almond Delicious Hands
I love L’occitane products, especially their Almond range. This hand cream is super creamy and moisturising and smells fresh and clean. It does the job – really well. I have super dry hands because I’m a bit of a germaphobe and always wash them or use hand santitizer, and this is the only hand cream I’ve found to actually make a difference to my hands.
Hair Care Favourites:
– Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish
I have almost-straight, flat hair naturally and find it difficult to get any body into my hair. I have been loving spraying this randomly on the roots of my hair and ‘fluffing’ it up to create volume. This spray also lasts in the hair and doesn’t create a greasy, dirty feeling which is great because I also have very oily hair.
– L’oreal Elnett Hairspray
I normally use a Tresemme hair spray, although I decided I felt like a change this month and I’m so glad I did! I love the lasting power of this hairspray and how it makes the hair look like silk. I find with most hairsprays, they leave an obvious ‘hairspray’, ‘straw’ finish in the hair. I feel like this spray still makes the hair look fairly natural.
