December Favourites 2014

Happy New Year!

Can you believe we are now into a brand new year?! It is crazy how time literally flies by. Before we know it, the Christmas decorations will be out in stores again!

I am kicking off my first blog post of the year with my December Favourites from last year (it feels so weird saying ‘last year’). Before I begin the post, I wanted to say that I planned to have published this post at the end of last month, however my laptop decided to die on me so it had to go back to the Apple Store for an operation.

Soo, ta-da! Here are my Favourites from the previous month:

– JBronze Dark Tanning Cream

FullSizeRender 8

Is anyone really that surprised that another JBronze product is featured in one of my posts? The past month I have been using this Cream as a tan maintainer. It is a little too light if you are after a tan that turns a deep bronze colour after one application, however in saying that it will turn into that desired colour after a couple of coats. This product has a slight shimmer to it, unlike the other JBronze tanning products (minus the actual Shimmer product), and it smells heavenly. It feels and smells like a luxe moisturiser and if you were to wear it in public, no one would even know it was fake tan on the skin because it doesn’t have that typical fake tan scent to it.

– Taylor Swift Incredible Things Perfume

“Nice to meet you, where you been? (my whole life)” is how I feel about this perfume. This scent is so me, and I wish it was created sooner! If you didn’t already know, I am obsessed with Taylor Swift and have been since the country days. This perfume only hit Australian stores a couple of weeks ago, and I purchased it the minute it was on the shelves. I purchased the gift set so this perfume also came with the body moisturiser and shower gel. Does it make sense if I said this perfume smells like the sound of her voice? It is velvety, creamy and woody. And super sultry. There are hints of vanilla, musk and flowers throughout the perfume too. I think this would be the perfect sultry and sexy perfume if you were going on a date. I have worn this perfume literally every day since I purchased it and I am so obsessed with it that I will buy multiple bottles of it when they run out. I very rarely purchase the same product twice, so for me to say I want to keep repurchasing it (forever), is huge for me! I am also obsessed with how cute the bottle is. I love the white background with the pretty watercolours and silhouette of Taylor on the bottle.

– Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes

Most facial wipes that I use start off fairly moist but tend to become drier each time I use one – but not these bad boys. These are some of the best facial wipes I have ever used! Each wipe is super moist and thoroughly removes all of the make up on my face. They are hypoallergenic, but for some reason they tend to sting my eyes a little. So, to remove my eye make up I use a micellar water instead. I would definitely repurchase these wipes and I would like to also try the other wipes in the range.

– Meiskin Kokonut Kreme Body Moisturiser

FullSizeRender 6

I used Meiskin’s Kandee’s Kreme Body Moisturiser back a few months ago, and I was quite pleased with how my dry skin reacted to the product. I was racking my brains with what to get my Mum for Christmas, so I decided to order her a Meiskin moisturiser and pick up one for myself as well. I thought vanilla and coconut would be a nice combination for a moisturiser, and trust me it is. This product smells super heavenly and the formula itself is very nourishing and hydrating! I like the Meiskin products because they are natural, Australian and not tested on animals. All of the products smell lovely and they are all a pretty pastel colour. Meiskin often offers specials and codes to receive discounts via their Instagram page, so if you are interested check them out!

– Nars Blush in Deep Throat

I am not the hugest fan of wearing blush. I don’t know what I have against it, but I dislike looking like I am wearing blush. Last month I didn’t fuss too much with my makeup, so I wanted a hybrid product that gave me some healthy colour without looking like a blush, yet wasn’t a bronzer. Deep Throat is one of my favourite cheek products of all time, and I found myself wearing it everyday in December. It is a pretty peachy-coral colour and looks so natural on the cheeks. I think it is a more ‘mild’ version of Orgasm. This blush contains some shimmer, yet only gives the skin a healthy glow as opposed to looking like a shimmery highlighter.

– Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

FullSizeRender 5

I wanted to try this mascara for soo long but it was always sold out! I received a Too Faced Holiday Collection palette for Christmas from my lovely friend Mady (I hope you’re reading this Mad), which I am obsessed with by the way, and it also came with a mini size of this mascara. My eyelashes are naturally so fair, and there is nothing amazing about them at all. They aren’t long or curly – they are just ‘blah’. This mascara makes my lashes so thick, dark and defined! I have to say, I’m fairly certain that no other mascara has made my lashes as thick and dark as Better Than Sex does. Hopefully my local Mecca Maxima receives a shipment of this mascara soon because I would love to repurchase it myself.

– Mac Lipstick in Twig

FullSizeRender 12

Ahh, Twig. There is so much that I could say about Twig. I am actually so obsessed with this lipstick that it probably isn’t healthy. It is just the perfect nude, brown, sultry lipstick! I didn’t set out to find Twig, I ended up with it by chance. My friend and I were shopping one day and we were at the Mac counter for so long, probably 45 minutes to an hour, because we just could not decide on what to pick. By the end of it, I was so overwhelmed that I just grabbed the first lipstick that I saw – which was Twig. I don’t think I even looked at it properly at the time. Anyway, I wore this shade a lot during December and I just love it. If you haven’t taken much notice of it before I suggest you do. And if you already have it, the chances are you are obsessed with it like I am.

I hope you enjoyed my December Favourites post! Did you enjoy the festivities and celebrations during the month of December?

G xx
