Latest Empties Collection

It is so satisfying when you completely use up a product! I have been stockpiling all of my empty product containers for a long time waiting to build a sufficient collection for another empties post.

Because there are a lot of empty products, I will keep the reviews fairly brief and to the point – we all know I can ramble a little.

So, as you can see I have a little collection here…

I will start off with the Living Proof Restore Shampoo and Conditioner:

Living Proof is actually co-owned by Jennifer Aniston, and I just adore Jen so I had to try out some of her products. I think this shampoo and conditioner did a pretty good job of cleansing my hair and making it feel healthier. The shampoo lathered quite well and both products had a lovely clean smell to them. I am not rushing out to repurchase them, but in saying that I would consider buying them again.

Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner:

I purchased this toner when I had really bad breakouts, and it did a great job of clearing them up! It helped to control my excess oil and it made my skin feel extra clean without being stripped. When I first started using it, it did tingle my skin a little however over time this eventually stopped as my skin toughened up more. At the moment I wouldn’t repurchase this product only because my skin has cleared up so much, but if I did get breakouts again I would buy it to help clear my skin.

L’Occitane Almond Delicious Hands & Cherry Blossom Hand Cream:

I absolutely love all L’Occitane products and these hand creams are no exception. Both thoroughly moisturised my hands, helped with any dry cuticles. Both hand creams smell like heaven, however my favourite is the Almond product. I have already repurchased the Almond hand cream, and am planning on doing so for a long time.

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter:

I liked this product because it was so thick so it heavily moisturised my cuticles. Some nights I would apply it all over my hands like a hand cream and wear cotton gloves while I slept. The only reason why I haven’t yet repurchased this product is because I really don’t like the smell. It smells like lemon scented cleaning products, and I do feel sick after a while from smelling this product.

Mecca Lit From Within Primer:

I really loved this product! It is quite shimmery though, so if you don’t like shimmery products this definitely isn’t the primer for you. The shimmer is subtle enough to wear all over your face but it does make the skin very dewy. This primer helped to make my foundation stay on well throughout the day and it didn’t make me too oily. I would definitely consider repurchasing this primer when I need a new one.

MAC Lipglass in Florabundance:

This product isn’t empty, however I hate it so much that I would never in a million years use it up. I am thinking that I got sold either a faulty product or a really old product. When I purchased this Lipglass it was initially a pretty nude colour (if you go onto the MAC website you will see the colour I am referring to), however it quickly turned into a pale yellow/orange toned lipgloss. It separated in the tube and honestly looks terrible. It is pretty hard to return opened cosmetics in Australia, so I didn’t bother doing anything about it especially because the product looked fine when I first bought it. This really disappointed me because I don’t normally use too many MAC products, especially the lip glosses, and this has turned me off buying their other products.

Garnier Micellar Water:

I’m not totally sold on this product. Some people claim this is better than Bioderma, however I really don’t think it is. I love my Bioderma, and because I have problematic skin I can definitely tell the difference between the two products. Even though Bioderma is way more expensive (almost triple the price), I am happy to buy it over the Garnier Micellar Water because it is just a lot better. Therefore, I wouldn’t repurchase this product.

Kora Organics Balancing Rose Mist:

I am obsessed with facial mists, and especially the Kora Organics mists! Kora Organics products are completely organic and natural and contain no nasty chemicals whatsoever. I think that these mists are well worth the price, and I can definitely tell that they make a difference to my skin. I will continue to repurchase these mists for a long time.

UltraCeuticals Ultra Milk Cleanser:

This is an amazing moisturising cleanser which is perfect for people with dry skin. I have spoken about this product in my latest skincare routine post, however I will give another brief rundown on the product. It cleanses the skin so well and removes all traces of make up. It leaves the skin feeling so hydrated – but not oily. Some hydrating cleansers leave a residue on the skin, although this product definitely does not do that. I was planning on repurchasing this cleanser when I ran out although I wasn’t near an UltraCeuticals stockist at the time and therefore had to buy another cleanser. I will return to using this product again in the near future.

I am excited to finally declutter my bathroom and dispose of all these empty containers!

Have you used any of these products before?

G xx

    1. Bioderma took all of my make up off much easier than the Garnier. I needed more of the Garnier and often when I’d wash my face there would still be make up coming off onto my face cloth. Bioderma also feels nicer on my skin. I can easily wipe my make up off with the Bioderma and feel like I don’t need to cleanse my face because it feels so fresh and clean (I always do cleanse afterwards however), but with the Garnier I felt like I needed to wash my skin as soon as I used it. Garnier sometimes also made my skin felt a little irritated. I hope that helped! 🙂

  1. I bought the Garnier Miceller Water after reading some great reviews and while it does remove the make up and leave my skin soft it takes a lot of it and several cotton pads and it doesn’t remove all my mascara so I’m left with panda eyes the next day. I like it due to the price and how it makes my skin feel but I feel like there must be a better product out there!

    1. Yes I had a similar problem! Bioderma is definitely better in my opinion however it is more expensive. My skin prefers it so I’m happy to pay a little more for it! 🙂
