Today I thought I would write about something more lifestyle based just to mix things up. I consider myself to be a very organized person, so I thought I would share a couple of tips on how you can keep organized if you aren’t already. My suggestions are only simple things, however I find that doing them helps me keep organized and get tasks done on time:
- Keep a diary
I love all of the diaries from Kikki.K because they are colourful and cute. Keeping a diary makes remembering things so much easier and they allow you to see the “bigger picture”. What I mean by that is when you physically write things down on certain days in your diary you can “visualise” your life. In my diary I plan out all upcoming events, when I have assessment and tests due as well as my day-to-day activities.
- Use post-it notes
Sometimes things can get lost when they are all written down on the page, so to make important things stand out I use post-its.
- Invest in some colourful stationery
This makes sure that I use my diary effectively because I get excited to use fun pens, highlighters and stickers.
- Make lists
A friend recently said to me, “you make lists don’t you”. I responded by saying I did in fact make lists, but I wanted to know how he could tell I did. He just replied with, “I can just tell. You look like the type of person that makes lists”. I love to make lists and I feel so accomplished when I can tick things off that I have completed. Make daily lists in order of what is the most important thing to do that day down to the least important thing.
- Learn to say no
It is important to say no sometimes. If you have an important assignment due or test to study for and your friend invites you out, you have to prioritise. If you say yes to every event you are invited to you will end up being behind on schedule and you will most likely end up stressed and frazzled. You know what they say – work hard, play hard. Stick to your plan and get tasks completed and party later.
