I was recently fortunate enough to receive some new skincare goodies from the brand Skinfood New Zealand. Just a little disclaimer, the company did not ask me to mention or review their products – they just kindly offered me some products to try out. As always, my review of these products is my 100% honest opinion.
Skinfood NZ is a skincare company from New Zealand that incorporates natural ingredients into all products and excludes any nasties such as parabens. The brand is driven by natural, fresh goodness that nourishes your skin and keeps it looking and feeling its best. I have always noticed that natural products work best on my skin – my skin can’t handle artificial ingredients. So, I am always on the hunt for amazing natural skincare and make up. One of the best things about this company is that they don’t test on animals!
The products are made from ingredients such as: Manuka honey, aloe vera, avocado oil, coconut, mango, almond, orange and macadamia shell just to name a few.
The products I tried out were:
- Cleans All
This product is the cleanser in the range and includes ingredients like Manuka honey, kiwifruit, limeflower, sunflower oil and aloe vera. This product is quite creamy in consistency, yet lathers nicely over the skin. Although this product feels creamy, it doesn’t leave any residue behind on the skin. I feel like this product would be great for all skin types because it is so gentle but at the same time it feels like your skin is actually clean afterwards without feeling stripped. I have dehydrated, acne prone skin and my skin is left feeling so nourished, balanced and happy after using this product. I am super happy with how this product makes my skin feel and look, and it is definitely a product I would repurchase.
- Exfoliating Scrub
I have always struggled to find an exfoliator that is gentle yet feels like it is actually scrubbing away at those dead skin cells… Until now. I have to say, this is one of the most effective facial exfoliators I have used. It makes the skin glow and feel super smooth. A lot of exfoliators I have used in the past leave my skin red and irritated, however this product did not do that. I received a couple of small samples of this product and because I like it so much I will place an order for a full sized tube.
- Mud Masque
Skinfood NZ is famous for their Mud Masque, and I can definitely see why. It is made with natural Rotorua mud, aloe vera and jojoba oil. This mask dries quickly on the skin and you can instantly feel it start to make the skin quite tight. I leave my mask on for around 20 minutes, and after I have washed it off my skin looks so smooth, soft and clear. Again, I received a couple of small samples of this product that I will no doubt finish up quickly, so I will definitely purchase the full sized tube as well.
- Exfoliating Body Bar
I liked this product a lot more than I thought I would! I am a little hesitant to use a bar of soap all over my body because it normally makes my skin dry, so instead I just use body wash on a loofah. I really liked this product for a couple of reasons: it gently exfoliates the skin as you massage the bar over your body, it smells amazing and it left my skin feeling hydrated as opposed to dry. I felt super clean after using this product too and it definitely didn’t strip my skin and leave it tight and dry. Again, this is also a product I would repurchase.
- Body Butter
Ahh, I love this stuff! This is possibly my favourite product in the range that I have tried so far (with the cleanser coming in at a close second!) I have the driest skin ever on my body and I always find it so difficult to find a nice scented, natural and extremely hydrating moisturiser. This product smells like heaven and is so nourishing. It is made with ingredients like Manuka honey, coconut, avocado and macadamia nut oils, mango and cocoa butter. Some moisturisers also sometimes irritate my skin and make it itchy, but this product leaves it feeling so calm and happy. This product is an absolute winner for me so of course I would repurchase it!
I am so impressed with the products that I have tried in the Skinfood NZ range so far, and I am so excited to try more! I am particularly interested in the Rosehip Oil as I do love a good facial oil.
Have you tried any of the Skinfood NZ products before?
