This morning I woke up, sat up in bed and thought to myself “I feel like going to Starbucks today!” To be honest, I’m not sure what possessed me to think that because I rarely ever go to Starbucks as it isn’t overly popular here in Australia. Nevertheless, the novelty of sitting in a café with my laptop like Carrie Bradshaw was very appealing to me.
So, here I am writing to you all from Starbucks with my Grande soy latte by my side. I used to always feel sorry for people that sat alone in restaurants and cafes, and now I am that person. I am honest in saying that I genuinely like doing this! I enjoy spending time by myself and I have no problem going out and about unaccompanied. Anyway I really should get to the actual point of this post…
The weather is certainly chilling down here in Australia, so that means it’s time to bust out the sultry winter lipsticks!
My winter lipstick picks are:
- Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina
This product applies so smoothly and the wand enables precision for a clean, crisp line. It dries matte and literally lasts the entire day throughout talking, eating and drinking. The non-sticky formula also keeps the lips hydrated.
- NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Damned
I love the deep, sultry, red wine shade of this lipstick. The amazing colour makes up for the fact that it can accentuate dry skin on the lips if they are not properly exfoliated and moisturised before applying this product.
- Revlon ColorBurst in Sultry
The ColorBurst lipsticks are so simple to apply, and this particular shade is very pigmented. This particular product is supposed to be matte, however it provides more of a satin finish. It has amazing lasting power too and can be bought at a reasonable price.
- MAC Creamsheen in Amorous
Like all MAC lipsticks, this product is creamy and hydrating on the lips and provides a gorgeous deep pigment. I consider this lipstick to be quite similar to the NARS lipstick in Audrey but with less red to it.
- NARS Audacious lipstick in Audrey
This is the most pigmented lipstick I own, and I consider this to be the perfect winter shade. It isn’t red, berry, or brown but the perfect combination of all three shades. It provides a satin finish on the lips but dries nicely so it doesn’t end up all over your teeth.
