Too Faced Born This Way Foundation | Review

Unless you have been living under a rock I’m sure you are well aware of the new Too Faced foundation called Born This Way. There has been so much hype about this product and I thought I would add my two cents worth.

This foundation applies like an absolute dream. It has a medium consistency and blends so well – minimal buffing required. You really don’t have to think too much when you apply this foundation because it just melts into the skin perfectly. I apply this foundation with either my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush or Buffing Brush.

Born This Way isn’t matte nor is it dewy. I would describe it as datte – dewy/mate (I completely just made up that word because no other word seemed to be right). I really like the finish of this foundation because it makes the skin look more like skin as opposed to cakey and matte. If you have been following my blog for a while now you would have noticed I don’t like a matte look. It looks unnatural and unflattering on me. One thing I will point out about this foundation is that once you have applied it the pores are temporarily accentuated. I don’t have a real issue with large pores, but for a few minutes after I have applied Born This Way you can see them… However this look does disappear shortly after and the skin looks flawless.

This foundation provides buildable medium to full coverage.

Lasting Power

Generally speaking this foundation lasts really well. It doesn’t fade or turn blotchy. I heard a lot of people say that they find this foundation transfers however I haven’t experienced this issue. I am not one to touch my face throughout the day, but I have touched it as an experiment to see if it transferred – and I found it didn’t. By the end of the day I look quite glowy. I wouldn’t go as far as saying oily, but there is a definite sheen to my face. This doesn’t bother me too much though.

This foundation is perfect for an event as it contains no SPF so you won’t get any flashback. I am really enjoying using this foundation and I am planning on using it for an upcoming event. If you are looking for a new foundation I definitely recommend giving this a try. From what I could see there was a good range of shades available. I do think that this product would suit most skin types apart from super dry/flaky skin. I have dehydrated, acne-prone skin and I find this suits me well. If I do have any flaky patches this foundation will highlight this a bit.

G xx
