My beauty New Years resolution was to amp up my skincare routine and incorporate more active products. I used to just cleanse, sometimes tone and moisturise but as I am in my early 20s I felt like I should be taking better care of my skin. My skin type is dehydrated and congested with some slight pigmentation. I will get the odd spot every now and then but who doesn’t? Since I have vowed to take better care of my skin I am currently trying out so many new products – prepare yourself for many upcoming skincare posts.
The asap Super B Complex is one product I have started using regularly. As I mentioned, I have very dehydrated skin so I am always seeking products to help moisturise and nourish my complexion. It can be hard to find a product that does that without breaking you out, but I think I have found a winner with the asap Super B Complex. asap is an Australian cruelty free skincare brand that focuses on using a lot of active ingredients.
What exactly is the asap Super B Complex?
This product is a serum that is suitable for all skin types, even if you have acne. It contains ingredients such as Niacinamide (which is Vitamin B3) to help with any pigmentation and keep your collagen production going strong. It also has cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid which has apparently 5 times the moisturising power and 50 times the moisture retaining properties of regular Hyaluronic Acid. Traditional Hyaluronic Acid is a dry complexion’s best friend, so you could imagine how much my dehydrated skin loves this product! The Super B Complex also contains Vitamins B5 and B9 as well as various others. If you have acne prone skin you may be wondering why on earth you would want to put a product so moisturising on your face. Put simply, acne prone skin is lacking moisture which is why it works so hard to produce the oils that cause breakouts. The more hydrated your skin is the less it has to work to produce oil, leading to a clearer complexion.
How do you use it?
asap recommends applying this serum in morning after cleansing and before any other serums or moisturisers. It can also be applied at night time in the same way. Although the product is lightweight and soaks straight in, I generally don’t apply it in the morning as I find applying it at night is enough for me.
Has there been visible results?
I have been using this product for the past few weeks now and I am super pleased with how it has changed my skin. As soon as I apply this product it is like my skin has taken a big drink of water, and it looks so clear and radiant. I feel like it hydrates my skin so well that I could easily skip the moisturiser if I wanted to, but obviously I don’t as I want to lock as much moisture into my skin as possible.
I highly recommend the asap Super B Complex product if you are wanting to step up your skincare routine and use a super nourishing and hydrating product. You can pick up this product from ry.com for $65 AUD, which is significantly cheaper than the usual $90 it sells for at other retailers.
