Normally I wouldn’t update the contents of my makeup bag for a new month, but since May is my favourite month of the year I felt very inspired. May is the most exciting month for me because my birthday falls in May and the weather is nice and cool without it being too cold. Cooler weather equals better fashion in my opinion; I live for wearing leather jackets, jumpers and boots.
With all of this Mayspiration, I have created MAYhem. Every post throughout the month will be apart of MAYhem, and I am aiming to post as much as physically possible! Creating content is mayhem at times, so I felt like the name was appropriate (pun intended).
I keep all of my day-to-day products in my Kylie Cosmetics makeup bag because it fits so much and it is really great quality. I picked mine up last Christmas.
NARS Sheer Glow
Sheer Glow and I share an undying love for each other. To me this foundation will always be, hands down, number one. It glides onto my skin, gives light to practically full coverage, and just looks bloody amazing. It never feels heavy on my skin and has not failed me once. Mr Nars I say a huge, giant, thank you for creating this foundation.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk
This foundation comes in at second place as my favourite foundation. I literally cannot get over how skin-like this product is. When I wear it, it doesn’t even look like makeup – how?! This foundation is a lighter consistency to Sheer Glow and has bit less coverage. Luminous Silk wears beautifully on the skin and has amazing longevity. This product hasn’t overtaken Sheer Glow mainly because I can’t achieve a ‘full’ coverage with it and find I sometimes have to spot conceal, but other than that it is incredible and so worth the price tag.
NARS Audacious lipsticks in Lana and Charlotte
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the NARS Audacious Lipstick formula is my absolute favourite. They feel creamy and hydrating and are super pigmented. I can put one of these lipsticks on and know that it will last through eating, drinking and general day-to-day life. Lana is a beautiful bright orange-red and Charlotte is a gorgeous berry shade which is perfect for autumn.
NARS Laguna bronzer
Confession time. I have never owned a NARS Laguna bronzer. This is crazy for someone as obsessed with NARS as I am! Laguna is probably their most famous product and I have never owned one until now (don’t ask me why).
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
The warm orange and red tones in this palette are right up my alley and so appropriate for this time of year. I have been obsessing over this palette recently for its colours and pigment and I can’t see myself putting it down any time soon.
Surratt Beauty Lipslique in Nu De Soleil
For the days when I don’t want to wear a bold lipstick I will swipe on this glossy pale nude lipstick. If you haven’t tried anything from Surratt, I urge you to this instant!
Ellis Faas Concealer
This is a fantastic concealer to use both under the eyes and on other areas on the face. I love the silver bullet packaging it comes in too, it’s so simple to twist and apply!
MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter
What can I say; this product is an absolute classic.
Hourglass Mood Exposure Blush
This is the perfect blush to pair with a bold lip because it gives the face some colour and life but isn’t too bright.
Jane Iredale PurePressed Powder
This has been a favourite product of mine for a very long time now. Use it to lightly set your foundation or buff it in with a kabuki brush to build up coverage.
Le Sourcil Eyebrow Pencil
This brow pencil is a new addition to my collection and it is fantastic. It is nice and fine to create natural looking brush strokes and has great colour pay off. Le Sourcil creates both warm and cool tones to cater for all hair colours.
