As a beauty devotee, I see the value in cosmetics. I adore everything about luxe products from their formulation and packaging to that thrill you get when you purchase them. I don’t mean to sound like a major product snob (drugstores sell great products!) but I just really enjoy the full experience of buying and using luxe products. Since nobody wants to waste their money, I have curated a little list of some products that are totally worth their price tag and are not just a hyped-up scam. In my humble opinion, these products are worth every cent…
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
When I first heard this foundation was $99 AUD I thought it was totally outrageous. 100 bucks for a foundation? You’ve got to be bloody kidding me! I spent months researching this product and walking past the Armani counter until I decided to bite the bullet and purchase it. Let me tell you, this product is worth every cent and I am currently scraping out the remnants of my bottle! It makes the skin look flawless without looking like you are really wearing a foundation. As someone with easily irritated and acne-prone skin I can honestly say this foundation did not cause me one bit of irritation or give me one spot.
Le Labo Fragrances
Ahh, Le Labo. This is my favourite fragrance brand along with Byredo. A bottle of this stuff costs you an arm and a leg, but is so worth it. The fragrances are long lasting and you don’t need to spray much when you wear them. My personal favourite is Rose 31 and I also adore Santal 33 (shock horror.)
Chantecaille Faux Cils Mascara
I used to think all mascaras were the same… until I tried Faux Cils. This mascara is hydrating and nourishing for the lashes. You won’t get sky-high volume and definition with this product but you will get beautiful, fluffy, clump-free lashes. Tip: if you have very oily skin make sure you pop some powder underneath your brow bone and under your lower lash line to ensure this product doesn’t transfer.
Dr Dennis Gross Peel Pads
These are the best at-home exfoliating product that deliver salon results. They target pretty much any concern and you can buy different versions depending on your skin type. A full, in-depth rundown on these will make an appearance on my blog shortly.
African Botanics Neroli Infused Marula Oil
For a face oil this can seem pretty exxy, but if you have congested/oily skin you might find this extremely helpful. It is full of antioxidants, vitamins C and E and Omega 9 and 6. This calms down any inflammation in the skin and helps to decongest but still hydrate. For an oil it also feels nice and lightweight – I have even used this during the day under my makeup and it worked like a charm!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder
These powders are without a doubt the best setting powders EVER. I have tried other ones that have been good but nothing will compare to these. They set your face without making you look chalky and gross, instead they slightly illuminate your skin. I will continue to repurchase these for eternity. Tip: the shade Ethereal Light is so underrated. It is just translucent and in my opinion the most universal shade; it won’t leave a white cast if used properly.
Drunk Elephant T.L.C Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
This was absolutely fantastic when my acne was at its peak. I found it strong enough to clear up my stubborn cystic acne but it is still gentle enough to use daily. It leaves the skin so clear, plump and glowy. I alternate between using my DG Peel Pads and this product.
