My Two Cents on the Dyson Supersonic

The Dyson Supersonic hair dryer was something I have been really intrigued by ever since it launched. I mean, it’s a whopping $499 for crying out loud. The hair dryer was something I had longed to own for several reasons: I am a beauty addict and love tech and my hair takes SO long to dry with a regular hair dryer. Every time I get my hair done hairdressers will always say ‘wow, I can’t believe how hard it is to get your hair to dry.’ My hair is fine but I have a lot of it. I was grateful to have had a recent birthday where my family generously gifted me the Dyson Supersonic and boy was I jumping out of my skin when I opened it – there was a lot of squealing involved. The burning question you’re probably wondering is does the Dyson live up to the hype and is it something you really need?

Firstly, let’s look at the features of the Dyson Supersonic from their website:

  • The hair dryer produces an extremely fast air flow (105mph if you’re curious) to deliver hair that’s dried and styled in no time
  • It’s easy and pretty lightweight to hold
  • It comes with several different magnetic attachments so that you can style your hair in different ways
  • There are 3 speed settings and 4 heat settings
  • Has negative ions which reduces static

I have been using my Dyson for a couple of weeks now and can safely say that I absolutely love it. I can now have dry hair in 5 minutes where it used to take me 15-20 minutes to get it dry with a regular hair dryer or, literally, the entire day if I left it to air dry. My hair was also prone to becoming super frizzy and fluffy from regular dryers however the Dyson makes my hair look super sleek and shiny. I don’t feel like I am frying and damaging my hair from heat when I use this hair dryer – it has a really great temperature control system.

In my experience, the Dyson Supersonic is a fantastic tool and I recommend it as long as you have the need for it. If you struggle to dry your hair or are prone to a lot of frizz and hair breakage then take a look into the Dyson and see if it would be suitable for you.

If you have tried the Dyson Supersonic before I would love to hear your thoughts about your experience!
