Clean Beauty Market Haul

To kick off my first blog post of 2018, I thought I would share my haul from Clean Beauty Market – a beautiful store located on the Gold Coast which sells non-toxic and ethical products. Think everything from makeup, skincare, haircare and personal care! I have always been conscious of the ingredients and chemicals in my products, so I am always on the hunt for high quality natural and organic products.

When I arrived I was greeted by the lovely Erin who is the owner of Clean Beauty Market. Erin is so knowledgable and was really helpful at picking out my makeup shades for me. The space itself is beautiful, light and clean with all products laid out and easy to navigate. There is a really nice vibe in the store that makes you want to hang around all day.

TiGi S-Factor Diamond Dreams | Review

I’m pretty fussy when it comes to haircare, which is why I don’t feature a great deal of it on my blog. I am always on the hunt for products that make my hair super shiny and hydrated without weighing it down. I also normally use high-end hair products as I find those in the supermarket just strip my hair and leave it feeling like straw. My blonde hair currently sits on my collarbone and has been through hell and back over the past few years. Although the ends are super dry, my roots are an oil slick. So, when I was sent the TiGi S-Factor Diamond Dreams Shampoo and Conditioner I was intrigued. I was most excited to try this shampoo and conditioner because when I was little my mum used the TiGi S-Factor range, so smelling the products brings back so many memories. The product smells sweet and a tad fruity, but the fragrance doesn’t smell overpowering and synthetic.

Brunettes Have More Fun?

So, I am now a brunette!

I was born blonde and have been blonde my entire life up until now. I have to say I love my new Miranda Kerr/Estée Lalonde inspired locks. I feel like it suits me better at this point in my life! I was unhappy being blonde for quite some time and experimented with balayage and lowlights, but now I can happily say that I am a brunette convert.

I have been experimenting with new make up looks to suit my new hair and I have found that rosy cheeks and a bright lip suit best. I went through a really grunge make up phase over winter when my hair was lighter, but I don’t think I can really pull off that look anymore.

Shoutout to the wonderful girls at Follow Hair Studio at Budds Beach for always keeping my hair fresh!

Have you recently changed up your hair? I’d love to know.

The Amazing Olaplex | Review

I rarely ever talk about haircare on my blog – it is something I should starting writing more about.

I have put my hair through absolute torture over the past few years. I have dyed it multiple different colours, chopped it off, grown it back out and repeated that cycle. Many times. To be honest, I am surprised I am not bald.

During my last trip to the hairdressers, I was introduced to Olaplex. I had heard of it before and that it was a “miracle” product, but I still didn’t know exactly what it was. Basically, Olaplex is described as “insurance for your hair”. Olaplex is a single ingredient bond multiplier that strengthens the hair and stops it from breaking. It is also free from silicone, sulfates, phthalates, DEA, aldehydes, gluten and it isn’t tested on animals. Even Kim Kardashian confessed she is a lover of Olaplex – it was her secret to going platinum blonde without her hair completely falling out.

There are three steps associated with Olaplex. Step one is the bond multiplier that is added to bleach and lighteners during the colouring phase. Step two is the bond perfector that is applied to the hair once the colour has been rinsed out. Step three is the hair perfector which is a take home treatment and is applied once a week to ensure the hair stays strong and healthy.

Before I went into the hairdresser for my latest colour, my hair was in okay condition however if any bleach was applied to it, my hair would have without a doubt snapped off. I had foils of bleach applied to all the ends of my hair, so that I had a balayage effect, and my hair was left feeling super strong due to the Olaplex.

I am so happy with how Olaplex has helped my fragile hair. It is feeling the strongest and healthiest it has been in such a long time. The treatment that I use once a week always leaves my hair so shiny and nourished.

Olaplex currently isn’t available in all hair salons and it is an add on service – so ask your hairdresser if it is available at your salon. I go to Follow Hair Studio at Budds Beach on the Gold Coast and it is without a doubt the best hair salon I have ever been to. The staff are so lovely and super talented!

Have you tried Olaplex?
