On the surface, the beauty industry seems overly glamorous and plastic and is often criticised as being superficial. At the roots, beauty is all about self-confidence. Beauty has little to do with how that red lipstick makes you look – it’s how that red lipstick makes you feel. I spoke to four industry professionals who shared with me their passion for beauty and making people feel their best.
Erin Norden, Owner of Clean Beauty Market
With her calming and personable nature, it was no surprise when Erin told me she enjoys being able to connect with people at her store, Clean Beauty Market. “Even though it sounds a bit silly when you talk about products, it’s actually really powerful when you help people find things that improve their confidence. It makes people quite happy when they find products that they love,” she says.
Erin’s must-haves: Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm, Kjaer Weis Lipgloss, Osea Cleansing Milk, Hynt Beauty Concealer.
Signature look: an even base, a hint of mascara and natural-looking brows.

Sometimes things just don’t go your way and you have a pretty crappy day. We’ve all been there. Whenever I’ve had had a shocking day, one of my favourite things to do is try to relax and give myself a pamper. Here are a few suggestions you can do to try and make yourself feel a bit better…
- Take a warm shower: you want to wash yourself from head to toe to cleanse off the day. Use a deep cleansing shampoo, hair mask, exfoliate and use a hydrating body wash.
- Post-shower, pop on the kettle and a hydrating mask: drink some herbal tea while you relax with a sheet mask on for a few minutes.
- Apply the rest of your skincare then put on a snuggly robe: the fluffier the robe the better.
- Dry off your hair: if you are a hair wizard*, do some nice blow out. I don’t know about you but if my hair is on point I feel a lot better. *I unfortunately am not but the feeling of dry, clean hair is nice enough.
- Binge-watch Friends: Friends fixes everything. Don’t fight me on this.

I feel like it’s been a long time since I’ve done a foundation review because for a while there I was sticking to the same old products. Thanks to a recommendation from HelloOctoberxo, I decided to purchase the YSL All Hours Foundation.

As a beauty devotee, I see the value in cosmetics. I adore everything about luxe products from their formulation and packaging to that thrill you get when you purchase them. I don’t mean to sound like a major product snob (drugstores sell great products!) but I just really enjoy the full experience of buying and using luxe products. Since nobody wants to waste their money, I have curated a little list of some products that are totally worth their price tag and are not just a hyped-up scam. In my humble opinion, these products are worth every cent…
